Mohammed : Death

After reorganizing the administration and seated influence of Islam in Mecca, he returned to Medina, where he died June 8 632 sixty-three years after a short illness. He is buried in his apartment adjoining the "prophetic mosque. An expansion of the mosque of Medina under the Umayyad dynasty is around his tomb, now inside the mosque, isolated by a triple wall.

Muslim tradition also relates that he died without leaving a legacy, he possessed at the time of his death a tunic, a skirt of coarse cloth and had pledged his armor against a gallon of barley from a Jew.

Subsequently, his followers continue to pass oral and written form of the suras, before they are finally collected in one book, the Koran, by the third Caliph Uthman less than twenty years after the death of Mohammed.
